Vermont Achievement Center serves children, youth, and families throughout the Rutland region, offering innovative and responsive programs in Special Education (Sheldon Academy), childcare, early education, family social services and intervention, water safety and therapy (Mitchell Therapy Pool) and much more.
The programs provided by the Vermont Achievement Center will touch more than 7,000 children and families this year.
PRIME Family Resources at Vermont Achievement Center offers a variety of community-based services and resources aimed at helping families and youth to remain in tact in the face of significant stress and crisis. The Runaway/Homeless Youth and Shelter Home programs serve youth age 11 – 22 and their families throughout Rutland County. PRIME’s community trained practitioners work in the areas of behavioral consultation, parenting, communication, conflict resolution, educational and community advocacy, and transitional services. We provide crisis intervention, assessment, case management, individual and family counseling, and referral.
