What We Do

VCRHYP member agencies work with youth, their families, and community partners to build resiliency through a strengths-based, youth-driven approach. Programs promote STABLE HOUSING, SOCIAL & EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING, EDUCATION & EMPLOYMENT, and PERMANENT CONNECTIONS by providing a variety of services to individuals and communities.

VCRHYP’s two main programs are:

Youth-care workers support youth up to age 18 who are in crisis, have runaway, become disconnected from their families, are homeless or are at risk of homelessness.  We work with youth and their families to address the issues at the root of the crisis, connect resources and wrap around supports, ensure safety and work towards stability with the goal of family reunification when appropriate or identifying a safe alternative living situation.

This program helps youth ages 16 to 22 that are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless make the difficult transition into adulthood.  Agencies provide housing supports and help young people re-engage with education, increase employability, and build vital life skills.
