Elevate Youth Services' mission: provide a wide range of innovative and effective programs that empower and enrich the lives of youth and families in Washington County, and to provide leadership and support to other youth programs throughout Vermont.

The Country Roads Program provides individual and family counseling, family mediation, and emergency temporary shelter for youth who are in crisis. The program serves runaway and homeless young people, as well as their families who are confronting conflict and stress which would cause instability in the family. When a runaway or homeless youth requires shelter, or when it is determined that a teen would benefit from taking a break from the family, the program works to place the youth in a temporary shelter home. Counseling can be arranged to take place at the office in Montpelier, at area schools, in family homes, or at other appropriate locations. Young people ages 12-22 who are at risk of running away or becoming homeless are eligible to receive individual and family counseling. Shelter services are available to youth ages 12-17. Referrals to other community resources are also provided to youth and families when needed.

The Transitional Living Program (TLP) helps youths ages 16-21 who are homeless make the transition to secure and healthy living situations. TLP is available to youths who cannot live at home and have no other safe living alternatives. The program provides up to 22 months of financial assistance to help participants pay for rent, groceries, and other necessities while they transition to a self-sufficient life. TLP participants live in apartments or “host homes” and take part in life skills training, budgeting and financial planning sessions, and recreational activities.

Through VCRHYP's Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program, EYS also offers Rapid Rehousing, Transitional Housing, and Diversion services.

Other programs provided by Elevate Youth Services include the Healthy Youth Program, Return House, the Youth Development Program, and the Basement Teen Center.

In addition to a variety of direct service programs, EYS is the administrative agency for each of the following statewide initiatives that promote coordination and resource sharing among youth-serving agencies, and assist thousands of youth throughout the state: the Youth Development Program, Vermont Youth Tomorrow AmeriCorps VISTA Program, Vermont Youth Development Corps, and the Vermont Coalition of Runaway and Homeless Youth Programs.
