What We Do
VCRHYP’s member programs provide some or all of the following services for runaway and homeless youth ages 12-24:
-
Emergency shelter for youth 12-17: Youth are provided with 24-hour access to safe shelter and supports to meet their basic needs.
- Youth and family reunification & stabilization support: Crisis intervention, case management, counseling, family mediation, and supportive services to stabilize youth and young adults in crisis, prevent incidents of runaway or homelessness, and preserve families.
- Transitional housing for young people 16-24 years old: Transitional Housing apartments, rental subsidies, help with landlords to preserve housing, support finding housing, connections to other housing supports and information about youth rights.
- Independent living supports: VCRHYP helps transition-aged youth 16- 24 years old who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless make a successful leap into adulthood by helping them re-engage with education, increase employability, and build vital life skills. Youth participating in this program receive housing supports and/ or intensive case management to help them achieve sustainable self-sufficiency.
-
Youth housing navigation: Support for youth ages 16-24 who are unstably housed or homeless, connections to service partners, crisis management support, and help accessing resources that could divert from or end episodes of homelessness.
